Facilitator: John Sanchez, FPA Group
Session DESCRIPTION: This session gives finance, treasury, and accounting professionals a single, practical framework for simplifying how they communicate financial information to any audience. Using the MARC framework (Minimal, Accessible, Repeatable, Clear) participants learn how to strip complexity from their communications without losing accuracy or credibility. Through a short individual exercise and a group translation challenge, participants practice applying MARC to realistic financial scenarios and leave with a tool they can use immediately.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES: After completing this session, participants will be able to: 1. Name and describe all four elements of the MARC framework and the test question for each. 2. Identify jargon and complexity in financial communications and replace them with plain language. 3. Apply all four MARC elements to rewrite a realistic financial communication for a non-finance audience. 4. Commit to one specific communication they send regularly that they will simplify using MARC.
