Liquidity in an Uncertain Landscape- A Panel Discussion

In this year’s AFP Liquidity Survey, practitioners shared how their organizations are responding to a rapidly changing economic environment on the heels of recent bank failures and rising inflation.  Survey findings on the importance of banking relationships and management of investment objectives will be presented.  Experts in liquidity will discuss these findings in a fireside chat format, share tips and provide information on balancing yield and principal safety.

Nolan LaFrombois is a senior relationship manager for PNC Capital Advisors located in Seattle. He is responsible for the coordination and delivery of investment solutions for institutional clients in the Western United States including public entities, corporations, defined benefit plans, charitable organizations, endowments, and foundations. Key responsibilities include maintaining relationships with existing clients by serving as the single point of contact for all matters related to their portfolios in accordance with client investment objectives as well as supporting the development of new business relationships.

Prior to joining PNC, Nolan worked within the Fixed Income Capital Markets Group of D.A. Davidson where he worked with institutional accounts as well as managed fixed income portfolios for high-net-worth individuals. Prior to his role at D.A. Davidson, Nolan was a principal with a dually registered Broker-Dealer/RIA concentrated in the fixed income markets where he focused on both taxable and tax-exempt fixed income solutions for his clients.

Nolan graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance from Seattle Pacific University. He also holds the FINRA Series 7, 63, and 65 licenses.

David Jolley of Domo has more than 31+ years of experience advising fast-growth companies and entrepreneurs across a range of industries including technology, software, life sciences and consumer products, among others, helping them develop and execute their growth strategies.

A passionate supporter of innovators, David had a long and successful career at Ernst & Young (“EY”) spanning more than 31 years. Most recently he served as EY’s Americas Growth Markets Leader, working with go-to-market teams across the Americas – including North, Central and South America, as well as Israel – to engage with high-growth entrepreneurs and innovative middle-market companies. These teams focus on family businesses, VC- and PE-backed companies, privately held businesses, pre-IPO and public companies, specifically those generating up to US $3B in annual revenue.

After retiring from EY in October of 2020, David was appointed to the Board of the Utah Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors. He also serves as a director on the boards of Scalar and Cypress Five Star.

In 2023, David joined Domo as the Chief Financial Officer.   Domo is $300m+ SaaS company, currently traded on the NASDAQ.

Ryan Harmer with Cricut brings over 17 years of financial accounting and auditing experience to Cricut. Prior to joining the team, he served as financial reporting manager for Packsize, a global on-demand packaging system provider for businesses with complex packaging needs. While at the company, he created their first consolidation including all international entities, which were then audited over the years by Ernst & Young. He has also served as senior audit manager at Mantyla McReynolds (now BDO), where he was the Cricut audit manager along with several other publicly traded companies. He began his career in public accounting at KPMG in Salt Lake City working on both privately held and publicly traded companies.

Ryan holds a MS degree in Accounting from the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah and a BA degree from Brigham Young University.

Clark Smith is the Director of Finance and Treasurer of Young Electric Sign Company (YESCO)—one of the largest manufacturers of custom signage in the North America.

Clark began his career with YESCO in 2000 as a staff accountant. Since that time his role has evolved to span several areas including treasury, financial planning, credit management, financial reporting, tax compliance, and ERP implementation.
